He adds, "We are in an important phase of developing our schemes, raising the bar of competency, and raising the profile of third-party certification. Howard’s support and guidance alongside our other respected Board Directors will be extremely welcome. We welcome Howard to the Board and look forward to working with him.

Attaining goals and providing guidance

Howard Passey stated, “It was an easy decision to make when BAFE asked if I would be interested in joining their Board of Directors. BAFE has been operating for close to four decades now, and in more recent years I have witnessed real improvements being made to their operation, available competency schemes, and engagement with the wider sector."

He adds, "I appreciate Justin’s comments and also look forward to working with him, Douglas (BAFE Chair), and the BAFE Board to ensure robust avenues are available to the sector to evidence their competence. This is a crucial time for the sector, and I hope that my engagement with the wider Board and BAFE team will assist in steering decision-making to achieve their goals and provide suitable guidance where it is required.
