Honeywell Life Safety is currently launching one of the most advanced aspiration detectors, the FAAST 8100E.

With new laser-based multisensor technology, the FAAST aspiration detector, type 8100E, combines very high sensitivity with great environmental tolerance. Simple design, pipe design, operation, and maintenance are taken care of with functions gathered in one program; Pipe IQ.

With its unique technique (uses both UV and IR light), the aspiration detector fits perfectly in systems that require very high (class A) or high sensitivity (class B), such as computer rooms, telecommunications systems, buildings worthy of protection, and other vulnerable objects, as well as demanding industrial environments and a large building with requirements for, especially early detection.

FAAST 8100E

FAAST 8100E has a completely unique ability to distinguish between fire-like phenomena (such as dust) and real fire smoke. Independent experiments have shown that the detector in 6 out of 9 tests with dust did not give an alarm, while other aspiration detectors gave an alarm in all 9. The detector also manages to detect fire smoke in a mixture of smoke and dust.

To achieve such startling results, the detector is equipped with a special optical detection chamber that uses both UV and IR light. This provides much more information than traditional sensors and forms the basis for very advanced signal processing.

The benefit for users is early detection of real fires and stable operation in demanding environments. Integrated web server enables network connectivity, remote monitoring, and email status updates. The detector has a clear graphical display of both airflow and smoke levels.
