What comes once a year with presents for firefighters everywhere? “Christmas in July” from Fire-Dex, the fastest-growing manufacturer of PPE for first responders in the country, returns this month to award industry-pioneering products to lucky fire departments.

Back for a second season, Christmas in July is a time for Fire-Dex to recognize first responders and thank them for their service by gifting the gear that keeps them protected on the front lines. This year in honor of the company’s 40th anniversary — and to recognize firefighting gloves as the first products sold by Fire-Dex in 1983 — 40 pairs of popular Fire-Dex gloves will be awarded over four days of giving.

New Dex-Rescue Gloves

Prizes include both Dex-Pro Structural Gloves—giving firefighters maximum flexibility and dexterity right at their fingertips—and all-new Dex-Rescue Gloves, the industry’s first nonstructural glove certified to NFPA 1951 (“Standard on Protective Ensembles for Technical Rescue Incidents”).

We are incredibly proud to support our first responders in familiar but also fun and unexpected ways,” states Jenny Surovey, Vice President of Marketing, adding "The trust placed in us by firefighters across the nation is what keeps us pushing to set new standards in performance and safety. This year marks our 40th anniversary of equipping them with the best tools available, including top-notch gloves that are known for comfort and quality going back to our first days in business.”

Making the List

Hopeful recipients can Enter to Win the Christmas in July contest on behalf of their fire department just by filling out a form. Fire-Dex will award four departments with 10 pairs of gloves and will announce the winners on Facebook each day between July 24 through July 27. Official contest rules are available on the Fire-Dex website.

The Best Gloves

Engineered to aid firefighter dexterity, Dex-Pro gloves bring wearers superior range of motion, comfort, and thermal protection. Made with top-grain cowhide that makes the fit feel natural, this glove features rollover fingertips, DexFlex fingers and a keystone thumb design to reduce restriction and hand fatigue.

It also provides nearly four times the NFPA requirement for heat protection — the highest level for any current NFPA-certified glove. For decades, Fire-Dex gloves have been the most flexible firefighting gloves for wet and dry conditions.

On the other hand, Dex-Rescue gloves incorporate many of the same features and are the perfect technical rescue gloves for nonstructural fire calls.

Fire-Dex’s newest glove meets the industry’s highest standards for cut and abrasion resistance, while helping wearers maintain a better grip on all types of technical rescue and extrication calls. From chemical spills to electrical incidents to vehicle rollovers, these gloves put stronger protection within easy reach.

Find Your Fit

Firefighters trust the construction and consistency of Fire-Dex gloves that are a stitch above standard alternatives and feel broken in straight out of the bag.

Excellence in manufacturing is how Fire-Dex has earned a reputation for quality that now spans 40 years and countless products, and now departments can win multiple pairs of the company’s hottest-selling gloves.
