Fire Corps programs aim to promote community emergency preparedness
Focus on what it truly means to be "ready"
September is National Preparedness Month (NPM) and Fire Corps programs nationwide can help promote emergency preparedness in their communities.
Led by the Ready Campaign and Citizen Corps and supported by organizations including Fire Corps, NPM is held each September to raise awareness and promote action surrounding emergency preparedness among citizens, businesses, and communities.
NPM 2009 focuses on helping Americans understand what it truly means to be "ready", including specific items to include in kits, making a plan, being informed, and getting involved.
Fire Corps has developed an online National Preparedness Month Resource Center to provide tools, resources, and materials that Fire Corps teams can utilize to help ready themselves and their community for emergency situations.
