A good pair of high-tech socks, in a quality wool blend, is the first line of defense for dry, comfortable, and, most importantly, blister-free feet. High-tech wool blend socks can be a big improvement over cotton socks.

As each foot is covered with nearly 250,000 sweat glands, the feet can be one of the sweatiest parts of the body and can produce up to 7 oz of perspiration per day with exertion. A good sock will wick away excess perspiration, keeping the feet dryer. And if the feet are drier, they stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer and also stay blister-free.

HAIX® multifunction socks have a combination of Merino Wool, Polypropylene, Polyamide, and Elasthan.

Merino wool

Merino wool is made up of soft, itch-free fibers whose biggest advantage is temperature regulation, making your feet more comfortable in a wide range of temperatures. Contrary to what one might normally think about wool, it is comfortable in both cool and warm conditions.

Merino wool absorbs and wicks moisture, does not itch, and dries much more quickly

Wool can also absorb up to 30% of its weight in water, keeping the feet drier over time. Merino wool absorbs and wicks moisture, does not itch, and dries much more quickly than cotton or other synthetics. Wool, by nature, also has natural anti-bacterial properties which help to make the sock odor resistant. Wool is inherently more durable too.

Cotton is generally not recommended for active use. Cotton absorbs perspiration, saturates quickly, and dries very slowly. This can be a perfect recipe for blisters. Cotton just does not provide good moisture management in the footwear, especially if one is an active first responder.

Ideal fit for feet

The merino wool blend in the HAIX® socks allows it to easily stretch and then return to its original shape. That way one gets the ideal fit for the feet. HAIX® wool blend socks offer a reinforced metatarsus area to protect against blistering and pressure points.

A rubber-free cuff edge prevents the sock from slipping down the leg or tightening up on the leg. Added cushioning in the heel and forefoot of the sock adds extra protection and soft, cushioned comfort. These are just a few reasons to consider trying a pair of high-tech wool blend socks - feeling believes. Don’t let a bad pair of socks ruin the workday.
