HAIX® proved to be one of the major attractions at Interschutz 2010, Leipzig.
For HAIX®, the Bavarian specialist in functional footwear, more than 40,000 visitors, a revolutionary new firefighting boot and a song that people are going to hear a lot more of sum up the world’s biggest trade show for the fire and rescue industry. “INTERSCHUTZ 2010 in Leipzig broke all previous records and more than exceeded our expectations,” says HAIX® CEO Ewald Haimerl who is already starting to plan for the next INTERSCHUTZ trade show in Hanover in five years’ time.
Taking centre stage on the 400-square metre HAIX® stand was the revolutionary new FIRE HERO® boot, which is extremely popular with firefighters around the world. “We sold out of some sizes completely at the show and had to ship supplies direct from our production facility to Leipzig,” says Haimerl. Customers from every continent showed great interest in the new firefighting boot made in Mainburg. From 9 a.m. until the show closed at 6 p.m., the stand was busier than virtually any other on the entire exhibition site which covers 90,000 square metres. 14,000 cups featuring the HAIX® logo were given away in just three and a half days. One of the stars of the show was definitely HAIX® employee Tracy Williams. Twice a day, she gave an impressive live performance of a brand-new song called "The Fire Hero of our Life" written by Ewald Haimerl, while wearing the equally new and exciting firefighting boots.

HAIX® is not the only one with reason to count this mega trade show for the fire services as a success. Over 1,350 exhibitors from 46 countries presented their products and services at INTERSCHUTZ, which is held every five years. According to the organizers, INTERSCHUTZ attracted 125,000 visitors over the six days. One in three of those were welcomed on the HAIX® stand. "Visitors give INTERSCHUTZ 2010 top marks in terms of the range of exhibitors, international focus and the areas covered,” reports Stephan Ph. Kühne, Vice President of Deutsche Messe AG. Almost one in four people attending INTERSCHUTZ came from outside Germany with 53 nations represented in total.
HAIX® proved to be one of the major attractions at the show in Leipzig. “We want to top that performance in Hanover in five years’ time,” adds Haimerl. In 2015, the HAIX® stand will increase to 500 square metres in size. There is certain to be no shortage of ideas and innovations by then at the company’s new headquarters currently being constructed in Mainburg in an investment worth four million euros.
