The clean room industry is all about keeping clean! It sounds obvious, but it’s true. Clean rooms need to be free of any contaminants or pollutants. This is so that scientific experiments can take place without anything harming or affecting the results of any experiments that are being carried out.

In some cases, full PPE must be worn such as coveralls, face masks, and hoods. However, this really depends on the environment they’re working in. They’ll be taking a look at the workwear required to work in the clean room industry.

Clean room industry

Headwear - Starting off with the headwear and a clean room hood, protective glasses and maybe even a face-covering may be required when working inside a clean room. Ear defenders may also be required depending on the type of machinery and experiments being carried out. But understandably all these go towards keeping the area free of any contaminations.

Bodywear - Clean room coats and overalls should be considered here to keep users warm - depending on the temperature conditions, as well as safe from any harmful chemicals or gasses when carrying out experiments. White or blue should be worn as to be able to recognize other co-workers and spot any spillages or leaks from various sources.

Highest-Grade workwear

Legwear - Clean room trousers are the main go-to here. Jeans or even regular work trousers more than likely won't be allowed as they’re neither industry-standard nor part of the uniform.

Footwear - A comfortable, durable, and sturdy pair of work boots should be considered. And in some cases, foot covers may need to be worn to help prevent any dirt, mud, or contaminants from being brought in from the outside world, to inside the clean room. Finally, a comfortable pair of socks can help keep the feet warm in colder conditions.

All the products mentioned are in stock and available to buy online at Granite Workwear. They make sure they stock only the highest-grade workwear so that users can buy workwear they can rely on and only have to buy once!
