The Government has announced an extension to the date ending recognition of the CE Mark in Great Britain. CE Marked goods may continue to be placed on the GB market until 1st January 2023.

This extension means that all product sectors have until 1st January 2023 to prepare to use the UKCA Mark, except Medical Devices. The UKCA Mark can be used and the Government is encouraging businesses to start using it as soon as possible, with it becoming mandatory for placing goods on the market in Great Britain from 1st January 2023.

UKCA Mark adaptation

The Government has confirmed that it remains entirely committed to supporting the industry in adapting to the UKCA Mark and will continue to engage actively with the industry over the coming 16 months.

The Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is hosting a webinar aimed at businesses on Thursday 2nd September 2021 at 14.00. This webinar is intended to help businesses understand upcoming changes and the actions they need to take.
