The auditor complimented the businesses for the presentation of their sites and provided suggestions for the environmental policy, impacts registers and training.
Following the audit, Andy Walton, Head of Health and Safety, and Greg Harrison, Central Health and Safety Trainer at British Engines were accredited by the Institution of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) which means that they can provide sustainability training to employees across the group.
Helen George, Health and Safety and Environment Manager at Stephenson Gobin, said: “The team has done really well when migrating to the standalone certificate and progressing through their first audit. It’s been great for the business to set objectives that are best suited to Stephenson Gobin and take ownership of these decisions.”
Over the next twelve months, the British Engines Group is focusing on sustainability, Co2 savings, energy usage, and carbon footprint.
