Education is the future and requires top performance. G-TEC, as a globally renowned specialist in the planning of technical building equipment, defines this claim for itself as follows: ‘Innovative building concepts that meet user requirements over the entire service life are indispensable’.

G-TEC’s new school center projects

Two large school projects currently planned by G-TEC in Weinheim and Heilbronn show how energy efficiency can be consistently implemented for the best possible climate protection, digital infrastructure and exemplary teaching and work rooms in the TGA.

  • New school center in Weinheim/Rhein-Neckar-Kreis opened for the new school year 2021/22

The new school center - Zweiburgenschule ‘has landed on the dot’

The new school center - Zweiburgenschule ‘has landed on the dot’ and ‘sets both structural and pedagogical standards’, according to Manuel Just, Mayor of the City of Weinheim, to the Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung.

In addition to adhering to costs and deadlines, the 6,700 sq. meters complex also has a number of special features from the TGA point of view.

Maik Blattner, Authorized Signatory at G-TEC Ingenieure GmbH (G-TEC) on the project, said “This includes particularly energy-efficient operation in conjunction with high quality standards with sustainable, functional and healthy room conditions.

State-of-the-art heat supply and photovoltaic systems

This includes a state-of-the-art heat supply and photovoltaic systems, which not only supplies the building itself, but also up to 40 other households in Weinheim with electricity.

In particular, the best possible ventilation concept for the school had the highest priority in the planning phase before COVID-19, which is now paying off several times over: Each classroom has its own ventilation system, which also automatically regulates the room temperature at all times. The digital infrastructure is state-of-the-art, for example with a comprehensive W-LAN network under the ceilings.

  • New Gerhard Hauptmann School in Heilbronn with integrative BIM planning culture

The 4-stream all-day elementary school in Heilbronn is a project consistently planned for the future

The 4-stream all-day elementary school in Heilbronn is also a project that is consistently planned for the future. ‘High transparency, the opportunity to have a say and more efficient work processes are a clear plus for us as the client’ - was the specification of the city of Heilbronn for a project that was planned throughout with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and will be completed in early 2022.

Through the partnership-based involvement of all those involved in the construction through the use of BIM as a central working tool, both frictional losses are avoided and errors are reduced to a minimum.

VR as an additional communication and control tool

To create further synergies, the models were processed by G-TEC with VR as an additional communication and control tool in the planning process. This made it possible for everyone involved to enter the building virtually, before the start of construction.

Axel Schneider, Managing Partner at G-TEC, said “With our BIM planning, we are making an important contribution to the best possible cooperation during construction. In addition, we develop modern and sustainable real estate that combines economy, ecology - and as here in the area of education - optimal usage and learning conditions.
