Fike’s DuraQuench pumped water mist system brings the benefits of water mist fire suppression within reach of most budgets and over the widest possible range of applications.
The heart of the DuraQuench system is a skid-mounted pump, electric motor, and pump controller that can be directly connected to a building’s water supply or to a tank or reservoir.
75% water savings
When connected to a building’s water supply, DuraQuench can provide an unlimited discharge duration something not possible with 'containerized' water mist systems.
Used with the appropriate machinery space or light hazard nozzle, the DuraQuench pump can protect nearly unlimited volumes with 75% less water than a conventional sprinkler system, and at a much lower cost than other water mist systems.
The DuraQuench™ Water Mist System
The system utilizes Closed Head automatic nozzles, including uprights for subfloor protection
If users are going to use a water-based system, use the best water mist system out there, the newly FM Approved Fike DuraQuench™. This system utilizes Closed Head automatic nozzles, including uprights for subfloor protection.
This means only the nozzle nearest the heat/fire will discharge the mist. If discharged, the amount of mist can be over 80% less compared to the water from a sprinkler pre-action system.
3D protection
Provides 3D protection, and can possibly reach permeating obscured flames that may be unreachable by typical sprinkler pre-action systems. Clean mist = less clean-up time and no contamination like dirty sprinkler water. This in turn leads to much less downtime.
The data center protection system can operate as a wet pipe system, a non-interlocked pre-action system, or a single-interlocked pre-action system.
C-EL-PA PreAction Water Mist System Valve
The C‐EL‐PA Pre‐Action control valve is a robust and reliable deluge, angle positioned, pilot control valve created entirely in stainless steel (316L), capable of functioning under harsh conditions, and designed to be connected to systems where no corrosion is allowed. The valve is designed for operating in closed dry systems as a zone valve.
The valve trim provides two methods of system activation which include a manual release lever and electrical release through a 24 VDC impulse solenoid valve. The impulse solenoid valve is designed to hold the valve in the open position once active. The valve will remain in the open position until a reverse polarity voltage is applied to the impulse solenoid allowing the C‐EL valve to close.
DuraQuench™ Water Mist System Applications
DuraQuench is the ideal solution when the prospect of collateral water damage is a primary concern
The DuraQuench system is designed for the protection of light-hazard occupancies such as offices, classrooms, churches, libraries, hotels, and museums.
DuraQuench is the ideal solution when the prospect of collateral water damage is a primary concern, or when existing water supplies are not adequate for a conventional sprinkler system.
Manufacturing and Processing
DuraQuench is an ideal system for protecting the wide array of hazards found in a manufacturing or processing plant. From transformer rooms and the production floor to office spaces and common areas.
Using the K6 machinery space nozzle, the OH-VSO light hazard nozzle, and selector valves, multiple hazard types can be protected with one DuraQuench pump.
Energy Industry
Utilities, municipalities, and independent power producers cannot afford unplanned generator downtime. DuraQuench provides fast-acting, environmentally sound fire suppression for generators, turbines, and pump and lubrication rooms.
