Force 21 Equipment Pte Ltd (Force 21) [1], a member of the CWT Group [2] specializing in defense, technology, and services catered to the local defense industry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with GEA Institute, a higher education institute based in Asia to collaborate in the areas of sport science, information systems, information technology and defense technologies in Singapore.
The signing of the MOU aims to accelerate the growth of learning and development in sport science, information systems as well as safety and security in Singapore. These areas correspond with the Singapore Economic Development Board’s (EDB) vision for targeted growth in the Infocomms & Media, Lifestyle as well as Safety and Security industries [3].
At an interview with the signatories, Force 21 Deputy GM Koh Yong Jin [4] commented, “This MOU will help bring the best-in-class proprietary technology in information systems and technology to Singaporean businesses as well as fitness and conditioning solutions for everyone.”

GEA Institute [5] Managing Director James De Souza [6] also welcomed the partnership, citing the close cooperation between government and businesses in Singapore as one of the primary reasons for the decision to expand into Singapore recently. He looks forward to working closely with Force 21 in line with the development goals of EDB for the benefit of local businesses and consumers.
Also, at the interview, Raffles United Holdings [7] CEO Koh Hai Yang [8] remarked that Singapore’s ease of doing business based upon its government as a “ready & trusted partner” is one of the reasons why Singapore remains ahead of its competition.
He also commented that the mutual synergies reaped from government-linked groups and private businesses will allow Singapore to be placed on the world map as an industrial pioneer in the above-mentioned areas unlike no other.
