Roadshow will visit the 52 most at risk townships from 4 December, 2010 to 12 February, 2011 |
The ‘FireReady Roadshow’ truck will be setting up at over 40 community events around the Australian state of Victoria across ten weeks.
The Roadshow will visit the 52 most at risk townships from 2 December 2010 – 12 February 2011, providing the community with one on one ‘face time’ and the opportunity to ask questions and get local information.
Events will be quite informal and give people the chance to chat with the CFA and fire agencies.
As well as local advice and information materials, the FireReady Truck will be bringing a sausage sizzle (conditions permitting), slushy machine, giveaways and kids activities to each event.
The FireReady Roadshow will be promoted via the media, online event listings and poster displays around the towns.
Coordinated by the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Roadshow is a whole-of-government campaign that also involves:
- Office of Emergency Services Commissioner
- Metropolitan Fire Brigade
- Department of Primary Industries
- Department of Education and Early Community Development
- Department of Sustainability and Environment
