The Fire Sector Federation is a broad church of expert professionals from the key UK fire safety bodies
The Fire Sector Federation will conduct a panel discussion aimed at assessing the outcomes of the inquest

The recently published inquest into the Lakanal House fire in London 2009 has highlighted some key areas of non compliance, oversight and operational confusion directly attributed to the incident. It has also argued the tragic loss of life could have been averted if the correct procedures and legal recommendations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order had been followed. The Fire Sector Federation will conduct a panel discussion aimed at assessing the outcomes of the inquest and the implications the recommendations will have on future fire safety measures.

The Fire Sector Federation is a broad church of expert professionals from the key UK fire safety bodies including the Fire Industry Association (FIA), Association Of Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP), Fire Protection Association (FPA), Chief Fire Officers’ Association (CFOA), British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BAFSA) and the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH). The FSF meets regularly in open forum, bringing together the broad knowledge, experience and skills that exist across the sector, with the intent of maximising effective use of this accumulated expertise to improve the safety of the nation. It seeks to articulate unambiguously, opinions and advice on behalf of the unified sector for the overall benefit of UK communities. It aims to improve communications and cooperation to help drive efficiency, common policy and common standards.
