The Fire Science Academy has made its website more interactive for fire industry clients

The new site will feature discussion blogs, date reservation for company special training, and news links

Future additions will include a "Friends of FSA" membership program and a live training field web cam.

Starting April 1, 2010, you will notice some changes to the Fire Science Academy Web site - www.fireacademy.unr.edu.

The focus of the changes will increase the interactivity of our site, provide our clients with easy access to timely information regarding the industry and FSA training, offer opportunities to share training experiences and photos, provide social networking links for discussion groups, and allow users of our web site to navigate promptly to specific areas of interest.

Along with a new format, new features that are being added include:

  • Discussion blogs addressing the industry's hot topics in training and emergency management
  • A user friendly date reservation system for Company Special training
  • News links to leading industry publications and news services
  • An Open Enrollment course calendar sortable by training type and course date
  • A Frequently Asked Questions section

Future additions will include a "Friends of FSA" membership program and a live training field web cam. We will be contacting a few of our newsletter subscribers in the near future to "test drive" the Beta version of the web site and will incorporate the suggestions we receive.

If you would like to participate in this test group, please contact Todd Valline at the FSA at tvalline@unr.edu.
