Fire Safety & Protection, LLC (“FSP”), a portfolio company of Sunny River Management, LLC (“SRM”), is pleased to announce the acquisition of L. Pugh & Associates, Inc. (“L. Pugh”), a local pioneer in the fire & life safety industry and known throughout the greater Pensacola market for its high level of customer service and technical expertise. Fire Safety & Protection, based in Atlanta, GA, is an emerging high-growth fire & life safety business that is building a strong presence in the United States and Canada.

Pugh customers should expect the same unwavering commitment to customer service they have come to expect over the years. Shane Pugh and Jay Larson will remain with the company to oversee continued growth under the new ownership. L. Pugh owner, Larry Pugh, will remain with the business to oversee the transition before entering, a well-deserved, retirement. FSP and the L. Pugh management team share the same views on customer service and look forward to the continued growth of the business.

substantial growth opportunities

The acquisition of L. Pugh is a great addition to FSP given L. Pugh’s long-established presence in the fire sprinkler market, culture of customer service, and highly-experienced leadership,” explains John Cote, SRM Managing Partner.

Larry Pugh added, “Sharon and I are excited to begin my retirement and I am confident that this acquisition will be beneficial to both employees and customers. On my initial meeting with John Cote, I stressed the importance of taking care of my team. Once we discussed FSP’s plan for growth, I was convinced that this acquisition would be the right thing to do. I expect that L. Pugh will have substantial growth opportunities and subsequent advancement for all our employees. Furthermore, I believe that with the growth of FSP and L. Pugh, we will be able to better service our customers.”
