Conference to be followed by exhibition from renowned companies
Advisors, risk managers, manufacturers and VdS experts will present solutions at the conference

VdS symposia are well-known as international gatherings for safety and security experts. On 2nd October, Europe’s number one institute for fire protection will be holding the “Fire Protection Systems” conference in the Netherlands for the first time.

In 2008 alone, thousands of fires across Holland caused damage totalling more than one billion €, with 97 deaths reported. These shocking figures show how important cross-border expert exchange is for fire fighters. Through the international “Fire Protection Systems” conference, VdS provides a platform which has been tried and tested by pros within Europe and beyond for years. Advisors, risk managers, manufacturers and of course VdS experts will be presenting practical solutions in Zeist on 2nd October.

“We want to give our guests the chance to learn from the best at an international level”, explains Hans de Jong, head of the VdS office in Holland. “Experts from the Netherlands and Germany will be detailing the changes brought about by the new ‘Bouwbesluit’ (Dutch construction law), explaining the VdS philosophy, comparing the VdS CEA 4001 for sprinkler systems with local regulations, and addressing the latest issues relating to fire risks posed by lithium-ion batteries as well as fire safety in data-processing centres.”

The official conference languages will be English and Dutch with simultaneous interpreting. As it is always the case at VdS, the conference will be accompanied by a exhibition by renowned companies, while the event wind-up will provide ample opportunity for exchange.
