The quality products represented by FFE and BFE ensure that departments have as little out-of-service time as possible
The acquisition better positions FFE and BFE to provide customers with enhanced product and service support

Finley Fire Equipment Co., Inc. (FFE), the foremost leader of fire and emergency apparatus and equipment for Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky, announced recently its purchase of Lexington, Kentucky-based Bluegrass Fire Equipment (BFE). BFE will retain its name as it combines its resources with FFE. The acquisition better positions FFE [and BFE] – with a broader product selection and expanded service offerings – to continue to exceed customers’ needs and provide hands-on service and assistance during and after the sale.

“BFE is a great name with an unmatched reputation, and we’re proud to have them as a part of the Finley Fire team enabling us to even better serve customers in the great state of Kentucky,” said John W. Finley, President/CEO of FFE and BFE. “With the BFE facility in Lexington as our new base of operation in Kentucky, we will blanket the state with improved distribution and an enhanced parts inventory that will result in quicker delivery of popular items. Other enhancements include excellent mobile service, a larger inventory of firefighting foam for emergency response, and the development of an SCBA repair centre.”

FFE - Exclusive dealer of Pierce Manufacturing in Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky

Founded in 1972, FFE has proudly served - since 1974 - as the exclusive dealer in Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky for Pierce Manufacturing, the leading North American manufacturer of custom fire apparatus. FFE also represents Crestline Coach ambulances and PL Custom Emergency Vehicles. FFE, furthermore, offers hundreds of product lines – serving fire, EMS, law enforcement, safety, and industrial markets – from the most reputable equipment manufacturers in the industry.

The quality products represented by FFE and BFE, along with a knowledgeable sales force of over 35 representatives, and over 25 outstanding service technicians (all of whom undergo continuous extensive training) ensure that departments have as little out-of-service time as possible. Annual maintenance and testing of air compressors, air paks, pumps, aerials, rescue equipment and air bags are also performed by company employees, most of whom are current or former firefighters.

“The fire and emergency response industry is very specialised and we want our customers to be informed buyers,” said Finley. “That’s why we offer the best quality products – American-made whenever possible – and back them with a service and support network second to none. Our business is built on honesty and integrity, and that’s how we operate every day.”

FFE boasts three service centres that enable it to support all makes and models of apparatus. It maintains a fleet of over 20 fully equipped mobile service vehicles, a stationary pump test area (at its McConnelsville service centre), four mobile pump test trailers, four portable pump test units, and an industry first Mobile Service & Lube Trailer. FFE recognises that the commitment and dedication of its employees in addition to its quality products and service facilities make FFE a leading force in the industry.
