Fike's safety solutions are designed to protect people from fire, explosion and over-pressurisation
Fike has been specialising in fire, explosion and over-pressurisation solutions for over 65 years

Fike has announced that it has received CE Marking on its Percussion Initiator and Time Delay Fuse products, part of Fike’s specialised line of energetic devices that work with oil and gas downhole operations.

GB Explosives Notified Body (ENB), which operates within the Health and Safety Laboratory, offers an independent, specialised technical service in the assessment and certification (CE-marking) of explosives within the scope of the European Directive 93/15/EEC.

Fike’s Percussion Initiator is a device typically used in Tubing Conveyed Perforating (TCP) operations to initiate the detonation chain of perforating guns for the completion of oil and gas wells. Used in similar applications, Fike’s Time Delay Fuse is a chemically generated device used to initiate detonation of an oilfield cord booster on perforating guns.

“Fike’s oilfield Energetics for downhole explosives is an exciting advancement within the oil and gas perforating tool industry, and is a great compliment to our more traditional oilfield products line,” says Brent Hanson, Fike Global Product Manager for Oilfield Products. “Our efforts to obtain the CE-marking, demonstrate our commitment to engineering the finest energetics products on a global basis. The European Economic Area (EEA) and other countries recognise ENB and the CE-Marking as the standard around the world, and we have worked diligently to obtain this approval.”

Fike is a globally recognised supplier of products and services that protect people and critical assets from dangers such as fire, explosion, and over-pressurisation. With over 65 years experience manufacturing safety solutions, Fike offers a complete line of proven, reliable products to customers around the world.
