The Craufurd Arms Real Ale House on Gringer Road, Maidenhead, was in dire need of a new industry-standard fire safety system and was long overdue some modern safety innovation.

At the time they had no system in place, which meant they weren’t conforming to current Fire Regulation Standards.

Not knowing where next to turn, and desperately requiring a system in place before the fast-approaching Craufurd Arms grand reopening, they approached the Eurotech team to guide them through this process.

Compatible safety system

After the site inspection, it was decided to install Euro-Fi Wireless system, to safeguard both the customers and staff

They liaised with their customers, LS Fire Solutions, to inspect the site and evaluate which would be the most compatible safety system to accommodate the needs of both the property and business. After some carefully considered deliberation, they decided to install the highest quality Euro-Fi Wireless system, to safeguard both the customers and staff of the Craufurd Arms for years to come.

To provide some background, The Craufurd arms was the first community-owned public house in Maidenhead and the fiftieth in the country to achieve this title.

It was incorporated on 1st November 2016 and absorbed by the community to avoid its closure. The Arm’s loyal customers purchased shares in the company and delegated job roles to appointed members to assure the long continuation of this beloved public house.

Efficient installation

LS Fire Solutions provided an excellent intermediary service and maintained constant communication with The Craufurd Arms throughout. They carried out a thorough risk assessment on-site which called for a commercial fire alarm system to ensure complete safety of staff and community.

With guidance, LS Fire Solutions decided on the Euro-Fi Wireless system to allow for a totally efficient installation to meet the looming deadline of the pub’s grand reopening.

Euro-Fi Wireless system

The system satisfied the needs of the Craufurd Arms by providing a user-friendly interface and fire detection equipment

Eurotech provided the site with the industry-leading Euro-Fi Wireless system, consisting of an Evotech Intelligent Wireless Control Panel, and a bespoke combination of Euro-Fi Wireless Translator Modules, Optical Smoke Detectors, Heat Detectors, Manual Call Points, Base Sounders, Beacons, and EN54-23 Approved Sounder VAD.

This intelligent system more than satisfied the needs of the Craufurd Arms, providing a user-friendly interface and top-of-the-range fire detection equipment to accommodate all factors.

Installation and commissioning

Once the risk assessments had been completed and the equipment supplied, LS Fire Solutions approached Focus Complete Security to fully install and commission the system, which was fitted and tested in time for The Craufurd Arm’s grand reopening.

The evening went off with a terrific bang and it was wonderful to see this small but resilient community working together in harmony to keep the doors of their cherished pub open for business.
