Euralarm co-signed a letter of 27 organizations active in the field of fire security to Commissioner Moedas. Following the recommendations from the International Association for Fire Safety Science, the organizations call for more resources dedicated to EU fire safety research in Horizon Europe.

Stakeholders from civil society, industry, fire testing laboratories, firefighters, academia and others unite on a clear and ambitious vision for the future of EU fire safety research. Such a united vision is needed to ensure cooperation between national levels, to develop consistent data, to enable critical mass for large scale-testing (important for facing new risks from today’s fires) and to support EU policies. This requires a holistic approach, across different research themes and Commission services.
