Emergency Reporting® (ER), the pioneer in cloud-based reporting and records management software for Fire and EMS agencies, is excited to welcome new customer, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Division of Fire and Rescue Services (MD).

Emergency Reporting’s Fire and EMS package will be utilized by the NIH Division of Fire and Rescue Services on the Ultra Secure hosting platform to provide fire, emergency medical, hazardous materials, and specialized rescue services.

Records management software

Many of the hazards at the NIH are unique and require specialized knowledge to prevent and mitigate the effects of the emergency, which is why ER is the best records management software option for them.

The NIH is characterized by a complex research environment, presenting a wide variety of hazardous operations including 3,500 research laboratories; a research hospital; animal facilities; computer facilities; high hazard bio-containment laboratories; day care and infant care facilities; dormitory and apartment facilities; single-family residential homes and an underground mass transit train station.

ER is proud to support more than 460,000 first responders and agency personnel at more than 6,400 agencies – including DoD/military installations and large entities with self-contained Fire/EMS services such as NASA, nuclear power plants, and hospitals.

In fact, the NIH Fire Department has been using ER’s add-on product, VISION Risk Assessment™, since 2008. VISION Risk Assessment™ is a dynamic tool that allows departments to analyze and categorize risks present in their community, compare data to other departments nationwide, and generate the Occupancy Vulnerability Assessment Profile (OVAP) score for all occupancies within their response area. After having a great experience with this product, the NIH FD signed up for ER’s Fire/EMS Software Package.

Data management modules

This package combines NFIRS and NEMSIS compliant incident reporting, data management modules, and other station management tools that meet the unique needs required by fire and rescue services in the health and science industry all while being hosted in an ultra-secure environment.
