Fire Departments around the globe are constantly finding ways to easily store their gear and PPE. Eden Prairie Fire Department in Minnesota faced that same problem until Wade Parker, Eden Prairie Assistant Chief, attended the FDIC Convention.
Parker met the GearGrid Team and realized that “of all the companies I looked at, GearGrid offered the most options, from size and color.” Being a Minnesota-based company also appealed to Parker in choosing what company to upgrade their department with.

When GearGrid had installed their lockers in the Eden Prairie Fire Department, Parker noticed that the products “gave their firefighters many options that allowed them to set their locker up the way it worked for them.”

The products the Eden Prairie Fire Department purchased included the SCBA Storage and the Work Bench. “This gave our firefighters a workspace to perform pack checks as well as safely store packs and bottles.”
In addition, the department had purchased the wall mounted storage racks that would hold their “brooms, mops, and cleaning supplies.” Parker added that all the GearGrid products have assisted in their department.

Parker mentions that firefighters are not shy about voicing their likes/dislikes about products. When it came to the GearGrid products in their department, they expressed appreciation for the storage and the “ability to change configurations of lockers and shelving.”

In addition, Parker added that whenever he gives tours of the Eden Prairie station, he receives compliments on how the station looks organized which he says is a big thanks to GearGrid.
When asked how working with the GearGrid team was, Parker was very complimentary and said they are “great to work with.” Parker was given a tour of the manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, Minnesota and was not only impressed with the facility but was also impressed by the employees.

“They first listened to my needs and then provided me with options to review and choose from”. Wade also complimented GearGrid’s customer service. He shared that when he encountered a broken caster, the GearGrid team was quick to send him replacement casters without him requesting one.
When asked if Parker would recommend GearGrid to other agencies, he replied, “I would tell other agencies, if you want good storage options, a product that is well built and looks good, GearGrid will fit your needs. They stand by their product.”
