DRIFIRE®, a company that develops and manufactures flame resistant clothes, announces that its Silkweight Long Sleeve T-shirt is now 'Member Tested and Recommended' by the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA).

The Silkweight Long Sleeve T-shirt scored a 4.61 out of a possible 5 and is now added to the NTOA's Member Tested and Recommended online database. The review was also published in the association's journal, The Tactical Edge. Before making it into the database, the Silkweight Long Sleeve T-shirt was tested by three different police officers from around the country. The officers scored the shirt on a number of criteria, including design, performance, sizing, quality, comfort and application. The shirt received all 4's and 5's from the officers who tested it.

The Silkweight Long Sleeve T-shirt is a moisture wicking shirt that's designed to be worn underneath other DRIFIRE garments or on its own in warmer weather. The shirt is flame resistant, has anti-microbial protection from bacteria and is available in a variety of colors. The Silkweight shirt can also be purchased in a short sleeve version.

"The NTOA is a leader in law enforcement training, information and networking for our country's first responders, and we're pleased that our Silkweight Long Sleeve T-shirt has passed their strict requirements for recommendation. Our moisture wicking shirts and other clothing are designed specifically for comfort and functionality for our military, firefighters, law enforcement and anyone else with a physically demanding profession," said L. Gene Cone, Chief Executive Officer of DRIFIRE (http://www.drifire.com).

DRIFIRE is one of the country's top manufacturers and developers of performance shirts and other clothing. Its items are designed with comfort in mind and details include special seam placement to make sure a garment's seams don't interfere with the user's gear, such as vests, backpacks or other protective gear.

The clothes also have a special three layer composition, allowing them to absorb twice as much moisture and 130% more vapor than cotton. This helps the body regulate temperature and ensures the wearer is as comfortable as possible, even in extreme heat and climate changes. The clothing is also designed to be self-extinguishing, with a no melt, no drip performance in case of fire.

"A DRIFIRE moisture wicking shirt is meant to help our country's first responders remain cool and comfortable, no matter what situation they're in. We're proud that our Silkweight Long Sleeve T-shirt has been given NTOA's recommendation because it shows that we're doing right by our first responders. We routinely receive letters from our customers telling us how our clothing has made a difference in their day to day lives and hope the NTOA's recommendation will help us assist even more people," said Cone.
