Crimson Fire will launch a new truck body style - the Star series - at FDIC
Crimson Fire is unveiling a new body style for its custom fire trucks and aerials today at FDIC, the fire-rescue industry's biggest trade show.

Crimson Fire, which is a subsidiary of Spartan Motors, Inc., has consolidated the best features of its previous models - the E, E-Lite, Star and SE - into the new Star Series, a high quality, heavy-duty body. The product line utilizes a single method of body construction, which enables Crimson to streamline the production process and provide premier product features at a competitive price.

The new Star body style is available on all models produced by Crimson Fire, including its custom pumpers, tankers, quick attacks, aerials and other vehicles. Crimson will feature a custom pumper with its patented Boomer mounted on a Spartan Metro Star chassis at Booth 2433 during FDIC, which runs through April 25 in Indianapolis, Ind.

"Drawing on our years of experience with the fire-rescue industry, we were able to identify the features most in demand by our customers," said Kevin Crump, president of Crimson Fire. "We then put the challenge to our engineering team to integrate the best for less. The result is the Star series, a feature-rich body that has high-value features and one that is easy for our customers to understand, specify and order.

"The best attributes of our high-end products will now be available to all customers as part of the new Star package. The end result is a strong, durable and safe vehicle that will allow firefighters and rescue personnel to answer when duty calls."

The Star series joins the new Legend series as one of the two body styles available to Crimson customers. The Legend series, which is also debuting at FDIC, features a new body style and a modular design that allows fire departments to choose from nine configurations to create a custom solution at an affordable price point.

 The new Star Series features:

  • Enhanced appearance and body construction
  • Multiple "smart" features, including Crimson's unique Smart Storage, Smart Pump Access and Smart Pump Display
  • Lower hosebed
  • Choice of chassis, including Spartan Chassis Furion, Metro Star and Gladiator

"Consolidating four models into a single body construction method will allow Crimson to improve economies of scale through purchasing materials," Crump explained. "We will also be able to reduce costs and achieve superb quality through consistency in the manufacturing process. Fire departments will have access to even more of Crimson's premier features and benefits without sacrificing the ability to customize their vehicles."
