Shane Sniffen was promoted to Inside Sales Engineer. Shane joined Hannay Reels in 2019.  He started in the disc department and recently completed additional shop training on all facets of reel production to help prepare him for his new position. Shane will make a great addition to the sales team and we are excited to have him in this new role.  Welcome to the sales team, Shane!

Milt Orietas has joined the Hannay Reels team as Facilities Director. Milt comes to us from Stratton Medical Center where he held the position of Manager of Maintenance Engineering. He has overall responsibility for maintenance and capital improvement initiatives for a 200,000 sq. ft. facility and Hannay Reels is confident that his knowledge and experience will prove very beneficial for this company’s present and future needs. Sean Bergin has joined the Hannay Reels team as its first CFO (Chief Financial Officer) in the company’s history. Sean started his career many years ago as an auditor at UHY Advisors before moving on to other opportunities at Ellis Hospital and EYP. Most recently, he served as the CFO of The Marketing Alliance, headquartered in St. Louis. Dustin Porter has joined the Hannay Reels team as a CAD Drafter/Designer. Dustin is a recent graduate of SUNY Morrisville and SUNY Polytechnic Institute with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Technology. He is a volunteer firefighter with the Huntersland Fire Department, and one of his hobbies is vinyl graphics – signs, lettering, and decals. Dustin will make a great addition to the innovative engineering team, he is eager to learn and excited to start his career at Hannay Reels.

Jim’s engineering background includes the development of gas turbine combustion systems, the design of testing equipment for gases and liquids, along with considerable manufacturing design work in areas such as packaging, molding, and shop floor automation. Ryan DeMuth has been promoted to the position of Engineering Manager. A new split bronze bearing insert (part # 9902-1710) is now standard for all 1-½” series reels, which includes reel models across several industries and applications such as LP Gas, Petroleum, Aviation, Industrial and Fire. The advantage of a split bearing on a reel is that if the bearing ever needs to be replaced, one will no longer have to remove the swivel joint as part of the task. Eric Lounsbury has joined the Hannay team as the new Facilities Director and Coatings/Finishing Manager. For the past 4 years, Eric has been the site facilities manager at GlaxoSmithKline’s plant in Oak Hill, New York. Prior to GSK, Eric acquired several years of wide-ranging experience as a chief building engineer for CBRE amongst other positions. Eric’s hands-on skills and knowledge are expected to be a great asset to Hannay Reels.  

David Lasselle has joined the Hannay Reels team as a Design Engineer. David is a 2018 graduate of Clarkson University with a Mechanical Engineering degree and a concentration in manufacturing. Prior to joining Hannay Reels, he worked for an electric motor startup company in Potsdam, New York, where he gained valuable experience working on various electrical and mechanical design projects.
