The challenge was undertaken to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity and Operation Florian

West Sussex FRS Chief Fire Officer Sean Ruth and Deputy Fire Officer Lee Neale recently undertook a charity cycle challenge visiting every fire station in the county over two days to raise as much money as possible for the Fire Fighters Charity and Operation Florian; two vital charities providing an invaluable source of help and support to firefighters, both at home and abroad.

The pair began at Midhurst on Thursday, July 17, and finished at Chichester, taking in all 25 of the county’s fire stations. They completed the challenge on Friday, July 18, and arrived at Chichester fire station in the afternoon.

The pair were met by fellow firefighters and a representative from the Firefighters Charity. Sue Pointon, from Ballyclare Limited, Essex FRS’ fire kit supplier was also there to greet the pair, as the company had given the biggest donation.

Ballyclare was glad to assist with the donation that will make a huge difference to members of the firefighting community and their families in their time of need.
