Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joined Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and local officials to provide an update on efforts to ensure a coordinated response to suppress the spread of COVID-19 within the community.

The reality is that we don’t know how long this is going to last or how this will impact so many aspects of our lives and livelihoods,” said Mayor Dyer. “What we do know is that our actions at this pivotal moment, both individually and collectively, can make a huge difference in slowing the spread of the virus.”

To further the city’s efforts, Mayor Dyer announced that all city facilities will close to the public at the close of business on Friday, March 20. The newly enacted closures apply to Orlando City Hall and other city administrative and office buildings. Outdoor facilities such as city parks, Leu Gardens, and Dubsdread Golf Course will remain open to the public, with necessary social distancing measures in place to adhere to CDC guidelines.

Essential city employees will continue delivering critical services to our residents throughout this difficult time,” Mayor Dyer said. “Residents needing assistance can still use the phone to interact with city government and access more than 290 city services through our online platform at Orlando.gov.”

The City of Orlando continues to monitor this ever-evolving situation and will continue to update the City’s website dedicated to the city’s response to Coronavirus (COVID-19).
