Chubb Fire & Security UK, a leading provider of electronic security and fire safety solutions for business and industry, is delivering an extensive package of fire protection and prevention services nationwide for the betting and gaming brand Gala Coral Group. Chubb is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
Chubb is servicing fire extinguishers at more than 1600 Coral betting shop sites as well as 160 Gala casino and bingo hall sites. In addition, the company is also servicing and maintaining sprinkler and fire suppression systems across the Gala bingo and casino estate. Fire risk assessments are being carried out as required and Chubb is supplying fire safety training for Gala employees.
“The fire training programme that we provide for Gala Coral was specifically developed to their requirements, whilst also helping Gala Coral meet their legal obligation, ensuring their employees are provided with adequate fire safety training across the group,” says Mark Wase, national accounts manager, Chubb.
The basic fire safety training is carried out over a three-year period and ensures that all staff are trained in the use of fire equipment and evacuation procedures. Under UK fire safety law, employers are also required to regularly carry out a fire risk assessment of their premises to reduce the risk of fire and plan for the event of an emergency. Chubb offers a nationwide fire consultancy service, providing highly trained fire consultants to undertake comprehensive risk assessments for both single and multi-site organisations.
Furthermore, with a nationwide team of more than 400 qualified fire extinguisher service engineers, Chubb has the ability to service and maintain all types and makes of extinguishers, in addition to providing a team of trained service engineers with a wealth of experience in the service and maintenance of fixed fire suppression systems.
According to Gala Coral, which has worked with Chubb for more than 10 years, the group chose Chubb as its fire supplier because Chubb was able to offer a complete package of fire safety solutions.
