Chubb signs two-year fire ad security contract with Screwfix
Chubb has a two-year contract to service and maintain fire alarm systems and extinguishers at Screwfix's retail outlets

Chubb has been awarded a contract by Screwfix, a direct and online tool and hardware supplier, to service and maintain essential fire systems and equipment at more than 170 outlets in the UK.

The contract is in addition to the turnkey security solutions already provided by Chubb. Chubb is a business of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

As part of a two-year contract, Chubb will service and maintain fire alarm systems and extinguishers, as well as continue to design, install and maintain IP-based remotely monitored CCTV technology in Screwfix retail outlets.

Steve Betts, Account Director for Chubb, believes that the trust established between the two companies over the last four years is at the heart of the new contract: “We have worked in partnership with Screwfix in keeping their property, their people and their assets safe from harm,” he says.

He also says that Screwfix was attracted to the proposition of having both fire and security services sourced from a single supplier: “Whereas before we worked in isolation,” he explains,
“today we can look at a company’s total fire and security needs, and provide them with a complete solution. From fire extinguishers and detection systems to intruder alarms and CCTV, we now have all of the expertise under one roof, with the quality and reliability of service that have become the hallmark of our business.”

Screwfix is the UK's largest direct and online supplier of trade tools, accessories and hardware products. Trade counters give customers the industry-leading availability already offered by its next day delivery service, but with the ‘same day’ convenience of a local merchant. Screwfix has 170 counters already open throughout the UK with more scheduled to launch later this year. Its parent company, the Kingfisher Group, also owns DIY retailers B&Q.

Chubb is a business of UTC Fire & Security, a company that provides fire safety and security solutions to more than 1 million customers worldwide. Headquartered in Connecticut, UTC Fire & Security is a unit of United Technologies Corp., which provides high technology products and services to the building and aerospace industries worldwide.
