Mueller valves permit operation of underground valves while providing an above ground visual indication as to whether the valves are open or shut

CSG can offer Mueller's Super Centurion Fire Hydrant, Post Indicator Gate Valves and OS&Y Resilient Wedge Gate Valves ex-stock

The Castings Services Group (CSG), one of the UK's leading suppliers of quality civil engineering products has announced a strategic new direction for business into the Fire Protection market. This follows the integration of a new range of high performance products from the US into their product portfolio.

The US is an undisputed leader in the development of fire protection systems and components. Through their partnership with Mueller Co, America's leading name in innovative water distribution systems, CSG can now extend a product offering to their customers, that is second to none and guaranteed to be high performance and trouble free year after year.

American manufactured components for fire protection systems, such as valves and hydrants must undergo rigorous testing to ensure they conform to stringent safety and performance standards. The Mueller range of fire protection products are both Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Listed, and Factory Mutual (FM) approved.

As such CSG can offer with complete confidence the Mueller Super Centurion Fire Hydrant, Mueller Post Indicator Gate Valves and Mueller OS&Y Resilient Wedge Gate Valves ex-stock from their Valves Division in Telford, Shropshire.

The state-of-the-art hydraulic design of the Super Centurion Fire Hydrant, enables firefighters to easily tap into the municipal water supply to assist in extinguishing a fire. The hydrant provides maximum flow and has a 250-psig rating; it offers outstanding long-term reliability and 10 year limited warranty. It also features a forced lubrication system and anti-friction washer allowing easier operation, as well as a convenient reversible main valve which doubles service life.

The Mueller Post Indicator Gate Valves are used to control an underground water supply to automatic sprinkler, water spray deluge, foam-water deluge, or standpipe fire protection systems. They permit operation of underground valves while providing an above ground visual indication as to whether the valves are open or shut, in addition to a means for locking the valves in a particular position. Indicator posts provide the facility to operate valves from outside a protected property and, therefore, the opportunity for more prompt operation in an emergency situation.

The Mueller OS&Y Resilient Wedge Gate Valves are available with BS4504 and ANSI Class flanges and are available in a full range of sizes from 2.1/2" through to 24". They are symmetrical in design with refinements to enhance reliability and service life. A dirt seal keeps out any debris and a number of special features protect critical areas of the valve from damage, wear and corrosion.

Roger Fulton, Managing Director, CSG commented:

"Fire Protection is a growth area for CSG, as we have traditionally supplied to the water and waste water industries, however our new extended portfolio of valves and broadening team expertise means we are now able to provide solutions for sizeable specifications of equipment in the fire protection realm."

We have already had a number of successful installations at Ford, BMW, AstraZeneca and several RAF bases. Our team are keen to engage with Fire Protection Contractors and Underground Pipework Installers who can benefit from rapid ex-stock deliveries and high-integrity UL listed / FM approved products."
