C-TEC's new ZFP fire panels have been installed to safeguard the stadium

Two of C-TEC’s new ZFP analogue addressable fire panels are playing a major role safeguarding St Helens Rugby League Club’s new 18,000 seat ‘Langtree Park’ stadium.

The two 4 loop networked panels connect to over 600 devices including 500 Apollo detectors and 85 C-TEC-manufactured addressable beacons. The state-of-the-art arena is set to become not only home to one of the world’s most famous rugby league clubs but is also destined to become a hot-spot for business events with its first-class corporate hospitality facilities, restaurants, meeting rooms and conference space for up to 1,600 delegates.

Featuring bright-red seating areas, a mirrored Sky TV lounge designed to house teams of television commentators and a gigantic TV screen and score-display board, the open-air stadium has a capacity of 18,000 and is worlds away from the old Saints Knowsley Road ground.
With their intuitive 4.3 inch, 472 x 248 pixel colour resistive touchscreens, the two ZFP panels provide clear and constant feedback on all aspects of fire alarm system activity at the stadium.

Each panel is interfaced to a SigNET LS voice alarm system manufactured by C-TEC’s sister company, SigNET. The ‘LS’ voice system comprises three racks of centrally located life safety amplifiers and a variety of fire alarm interfaces, audio inputs, loudspeakers and manual and automatic controllers that are distributed around the ground.

In addition to reacting to the powerful ‘cause and effect’ scenarios programmed into the ZFP fire panels, the voice alarm system has been configured to relay communications to certain areas of the stadium as and when required. ‘Live’ messages can also be broadcast around the site by building control should an emergency situation occur.

Other C-TEC equipment installed at the site includes a SigTEL fire telephone system, a series of NC951 disabled toilet alarms and numerous PDA induction loop amplifiers.
