Firefighter PPE suppliers and specialists from across the globe will be meeting in the UK in May at Bristol Uniforms’ three-day Distributor Conference.

Held every few years, the conference is an opportunity for appointed distributors from more than 70 countries around the world to meet in Bristol to discuss their business, markets, and ambitions. This year’s event is set to be the largest yet, with the Radisson Blu Hotel selected as a new venue to accommodate growing numbers. Visiting distributors will also be treated to dinner at the prestigious and historic Merchants’ Hall in Clifton.

Forging supportive relationships

With customers in more than 110 countries, Bristol Uniforms’ distributors play a crucial role in promoting the company’s international trade interests. They are appointed for their knowledge of local markets and experience of working with key decision makers in both the public sector and industrial markets.

Regular contact is maintained with distributors via Bristol’s international sales managers, who travel the globe to offer support, visit customers and prospects, and to attend international and national fire shows held each year in most regions of the world. The distributor conferences, however, provide a unique opportunity for the entire team of international distributors to come together, forge supportive relationships, and share their experiences and ideas.

Impact of revised and new standards

This year’s programme will include updates on a range of technical developments in fibres and fabrics by experts such as WL Gore, Hainsworth, Dupont and PBI Performance products, as well as briefings on the latest European and International standards and the likely impact revised and new standards will have on the market. Delegates will also be informed of the latest innovations from Bristol’s product development programme, and will undertake a tour of Bristol’s newly-expanded factory at Staple Hill.

Roger Startin, Bristol Uniforms’ Joint Managing Director, commented: “We always have a very enthusiastic response to our distributor conferences. The Bristol network reaches to almost every corner of the globe, and contains a vast amount of knowledge and expertise. It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to bring everyone together, strengthen our contacts and share our vision.”
