Firefighters at Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service have praised NHS workers for their service during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Watch Commander for the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Graeme Hobson said “Our partners at the NHS are going through a very difficult time and we are extremely grateful for all the work they do.

NHS tribute for COVID-19 work

Graeme Hobson adds, “We understand the sacrifices they are making and so wanted to create a special tribute to say thanks to our NHS colleagues. We hope the visual display will lift some spirits and let them know the Service fully supports them.

Simon Williams adds, “We need to protect the most vulnerable in our communities, alongside reducing the pressure on the NHS and their resources. We, therefore, encourage everyone to keep safe and stay at home, in order to save lives.

Protecting frontline workers

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s operational staff is continuing to work around the clock, in order to ensure that they are available for incidents across the county and to help protect communities.

With precautionary protective clothing and procedures in place, Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service are well equipped to protect their frontline staff, as much as possible. The fire service encourages people to stay at home and to look on their website for more information on how to keep safe in their homes.
