The Government have published their response to the Building a Safer Future Consultation.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) state: “In June 2019, the government published the ‘Building a Safer Future’ consultation detailing proposals to achieve long-term reform of the building safety system. This document sets out the government’s proposals for a reformed building safety system covering the performance of all buildings as well as the management of fire and structural safety risks in new and existing buildings in scope. It takes into account the responses received from the consultation.”
This assembles information for the proposed Building Safety Bill, expected in the 2020/21 Parliamentary session. BAFE will be participating in these discussions, both as BAFE and as part of the Hackitt Working Groups.
