The BAFE Fire Safety Register is pleased to welcome Ken Bullock to the team in his new role as Technical Schemes and Assurance Manager.
Ken Bullock is a well-known and respected individual within the fire safety industry and has over 35 years of experience in which time he has been involved in bringing new technologies to the industry. Ken’s fire industry journey began with wireless fire detection and alarm technology, back when he noted that BS 5839-1 only had one paragraph.

Working with the FIA and BRE he was heavily involved in the growth of the technology from a standards point of view, including being a pioneer in the writing of EN54 part 25 where he became the UK principal expert on the CEN working group. As wireless technology became part of an everyday fire system his role with industry stakeholders meant him getting involved with all the automatic fire and detection standards.
Ken’s role was Business Development Manager for Evacuation Alert Systems at Advanced
Prior to joining BAFE, Ken’s latest role was Business Development Manager for Evacuation Alert Systems at Advanced. Ken is a prominent thought pioneer within the industry on BS 8629, working with stakeholders to improve the standard and market understanding.
Developing new technologies
Ken stated, “I’m excited and privileged to join BAFE as one of the industry’s pioneering campaigners in delivering a safer future for the UK, using my knowledge and industry experience we can help drive competency in the fire industry to new levels."
