Day2 Day has become the 300th member of BAFE SP 203-1 scheme

BAFE are pleased to announce that Day2Day have become the 300th installer company to achieve its accreditation under the SP203-1 scheme. This modular scheme for fire detection and alarm systems allows companies to prove their competency within the Fire industry. All scheme members are independently verified as competent through UKAS accredited Certification Bodies, who work to the scheme and then carry out annual verification to ensure continued compliance for BAFE registration.

The 300th certificate will be awarded to Day 2 Day Security. Day 2 Day is a family run Fire and Intruder alarm installer based in Essex. They began installing fire alarm systems approximately 18 months ago and have been receiving most of their enquiries through recommendations. Chris Day, Director, commented: "It's great to be the 300th member of the BAFE SP203-1 scheme, we have been steadily growing this side of our business and recognise the benefits that membership brings." Having achieved accreditation Day2Day will use membership as a tool to help grow their business.

"Being BAFE registered gives us the edge over our competitors" explains Rob Day, Managing Director. "The 'Responsible Person' can be reassured by our BAFE certification that we are a 'competent' installation Company for their Fire Alarm requirements, and that when we hand their system over it is compliant with the BS5839 Category stated, and a full after sales and maintenance regime will be applied."

SP203-1 is modular in its structure on purpose; it is broken down into four sections, System Design, System Installation, commissioning & ongoing maintenance. This ensures there is continuity with the way in which Fire detection and Alarm systems (FD&A) are installed and that companies who specialise in only one or two elements of the process can still achieve 3rd Part approval. Stephen Adams, General Manager BAFE, comments: "SP203-1 will continue to help installers provide an experienced and dependable service. BAFE will continue to ensure that competent companies can show their customers a real difference in the quality of their work and also to ensure that only these companies use our logo as the quality mark."
