Strengthen the green transition in India

Denmark has the skills, India has the scale” – said the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi

Three companies were invited to present concrete agreements of cooperation, which will help strengthen the green transition in India. AVK was one of those three companies.

Afterwards, a business meeting took place at the Federation of Danish Industry (DI), where Niels Aage Kjær got the opportunity to exchange a few words with Narendra Modi about AVK’s current activities in India, as well as the solutions the Danish companies can offer.

A win-win for Denmark and India

India is facing challenges with - among other areas - drinking water and infrastructure planning

India will soon become the world's most populated country. It is the largest democracy on the planet. The Indian Government has stated that they want to increase the renewable energy capacity with more than 300 gigawatt - this accumulates to as much as 40 times the current Danish capacity.

Also, India is facing challenges with - among other areas - drinking water and infrastructure planning. This means good opportunities for bringing the Danish capabilities into play, and will be a huge factor in boosting the local export of Danish products and solutions.

Ambitious export strategy for water technology

At the end of last year, the Danish Government published an ambitious export strategy for water technology. A long-anticipated move that is expected to double the export (to 40 billion DKK) by 2030.

The Danish water industry has long been asking for strengthened cooperation efforts, not only for the benefit of national exporters, but also as part of a desire to support the UN goals, especially in providing proper water supply for more people, and to have more governments see the possibilities in wastewater treatment and utilization.
