In a move that will strengthen its presence in the Italian marketplace, the wireless fire detection and alarm devices pioneer, Argus Security, has acquired the assets and core business activities of IBIT Fireline Srl, one of its primary Italian distributors.

With a long history of close collaboration, there are obvious synergies between the two companies, and the acquisition allows Argus to enhance its sales and support offer for its Italian customers, further leveraging the established partnerships between the two companies.

Authority comment

Giorgio Koursaris, Argus General Manager, commented: “Today’s announcement is a major step forward for Argus in the expanding Italian market, with the acquisition of IBIT FireLine bringing us strong customer relationships and networks in Italy.”

Both companies share a technically competent, customer-focused, and entrepreneurial culture, and this will be enhanced further as the new combined business focuses on our mission to promote and support the uptake of wireless fire devices in the country.”

Creation of Argus Italy Srl

The acquisition of IBIT FireLine has led to the creation of Argus Italy Srl, a 100%-owned subsidiary of Argus, which is itself part of Halma plc, a British group of safety equipment companies that is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.

A wide range of fire devices

Wireless detection is a fast-growing segment of the fire market and a key focus of Argus’ strategy

Argus offers a wide range of commercial standard wireless and wired fire devices on the market, ranging from optical, multi-criteria, and heat detectors to notification, alarm, interface, and control units.

All products, fully certified to EN54, offer a high performance and quality in the industry, and are also fully compliant with all relevant international standards.

Wireless detection is a fast-growing segment of the fire market and a key focus of Argus’ strategy by being more directly involved in the conversion of wired fire detection to wireless fire detection through the specification with end-users, system integrators, and specifiers in different parts of the world.

Financial strength and credibility of the Argus

Sandra Petrosino, Business Manager at IBIT FireLine, said: “We’re extremely pleased to have joined the Argus family.”

The financial strength and credibility of the Argus brand across Italy will help us in developing our business as we will now be able to provide our partners and customers with even greater access to the latest wireless fire detection and alarm solutions.”

We look forward to working with the Argus team over the coming years.”

Italy is a core and high potential market for Argus Security and, with this acquisition, businesses and fire safety experts in the country will benefit from stronger technical and commercial support. Argus Italy will sustain and enhance the quality of the services Argus is able to provide to customers.
