ARA is proud to launch the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for 2018-2020 and join over 1,000 Australian organizations that have committed to RAP programs with Reconciliation Australia.
The RAP aims to provide solid opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their businesses to succeed. It is with the dedication of ARA Indigenous Services’ General Manager, Suzanne Grech, that ARA was able to embark on an ‘Innovate’ RAP framework and start making tangible and meaningful changes in the company, the communities, and the spheres of influence.
Four areas of commitments
The RAP steering committee (which is comprised of a majority of senior management and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation) is responsible for ensuring that ARA delivers strong outcomes for the commitments made in four key areas:
- Meaningful Community Partnerships;
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Business Inclusion;
- Sustainable Employment and;
- Cultural Awareness.
RAP encourages all of ARA’s staff and stakeholders to familiarise themselves with the steering committee and the RAP and expects that ARA’s commitments will be embraced by the Group in the years ahead.
