With the new TLF-A 5000, the voestalpine fire brigade in Linz (Austria) not only receives a modern fire fighting vehicle, but also a high-pressure unit for use on the plant premises. The 97 full-time firefighters thus ensure safe operation and efficient and rapid fire-fighting in the event of an emergency.

Early fire detection system

The system serves as a supply unit for the high-pressure water mist dry piping installed in the plant. In the event of an emergency, the unit supplies a wide range of extinguishing areas throughout the entire production plant. In addition to the approx. 17 km long accessible cable tunnels, electrical and hydraulic rooms are also protected with the efficient system.

The areas are equipped with an early fire detection system for safe and rapid fire detection. The mobile feed-in via the new TLF-A 5000 saves acquisition costs and costs during operation. In areas where a very rapid fire development is to be expected or a high value concentration is present, stationary extinguishing systems are also used.
