Already 10 years ago, AQUASYS installed high-pressure water mist (HPWM) systems in the first trains of the Incheon Metro lines. Each day, they ensure the safety of passengers in the 29.2 km long connection from the Incheon district to the center of Seoul. Now the acceptance test of the client of 6 further mobile HPWM systems has taken place. Local partner Consilium will install the system in the new trains of Incheon Line 2 to protect the passenger areas.

With the currently delivered packages, about 50 trains in Korea are now equipped with AQUASYS HPWM systems. Each Incheon Line system consists of a pump unit, valves and the nozzle network. The HPWM system is activated and centrally controlled by a detection system. The required water is also stored centrally. Flexible hoses for the HPWM system and electrical cables for the detection system lay between the wagons.

By using control valves, it is possible to activate specific areas. AQUASYS high-pressure water mist systems for rail vehicles are particularly effective in protecting driver and passenger areas as well as technical zones, such as the diesel power unit, because the small droplets have an excellent effect in terms of firefighting and cooling the environment. A large number of projects carried out worldwide confirm this.

In close cooperation with the company’s partners and specialists for detection and with the involvement of train manufacturers, AQUASYS develops effective and individual solutions for the most diverse customer requirements for the protection of rail vehicles. Mr. Fulvio Sais can be contacted for further information on the company’s rail vehicle protection systems and services.
