The innovative and globally renowned manufacturer of lightweight construction technology, Nemak Linz GmbH, has been relying on the high pressure water mist (HPWM) technology from AQUASYS for over 20 years.

At the beginning of 2021, the extraction system was expanded. AQUASYS upgraded the new sections with single nozzles in less than 2 weeks and thus, ensured the rapid restart of business.

The highly efficient cooling effect of the AQUASYS high pressure water mist (HPWM) system prevents incipient fires in the ventilation duct. Several times a year, the AQUASYS system, which is divided into four sections, is activated.

This prevents dangerous fires in the ventilation area. There, the fire risk is quite high due to the deposits,” explains Lucas Bindreiter, the Head of Service and Maintenance at AQUASYS.

Hot particles in the ventilation ducts are detected on site by spark detectors. The compact AQUASYS pump unit with a delivery rate of 224 liters/min supplies the affected areas in an emergency and is quickly ready for operation again.

The HPWM system is directly linked to the control center, as well as to the fire alarm center, and thus, contributes significantly to increasing the safety of the aluminum foundry.
