Since 2013 AQUASYS supplies high-pressure water mist systems for the protection of transformers for the public power grid operator BEST Mumbai in India. In addition to the usual scope of supply with valves, pipeline and nozzle network, the systems include a power-independent operation solution to ensure the availability of the system even in the case of a power breakdown.
And this is how the fire-fighting system works: Water-filled bottles are pressurized via nitrogen accumulators. When the HPWM system is triggered in the case of fire, the water is transported to the open areas and released as a fine water mist through special designed nozzles. Three circularly arranged pipelines with nozzles around each transformer ensure that when the HPWM System is triggered the transformer will be completely surrounded by water mist.
Central water supply for transformers
The planning of the pipeline network as well as the design of the central water supply unit for the 4 transformer stations was realized together with local partner New Age, who is able to independently handle the installation and commissioning of the plant. Small adjustments of the pipe network are also possible on site, which provides the best conditions for a smooth project flow.
Nitrogen-powered Power Packs, whose number of cylinders is dependent on operating time and protective volume, offer high flexibility in insertion and assembly due to the modular design
