The underground car park of a renowned private bank in Hamburg, Germany was recently equipped with a high pressure water mist (HPWM) system from AQUASYS. The high-quality, firefighting system replaces the existing sprinkler system, which was out of date.

Since the outdated pipes of the sprinkler system were laid in the walls and could not be replaced, the optimal solution was to use small dimension on-wall pipes and thus, the HPWM system.

High pressure water mist (HPWM) technology

The HPWM technology is characterized by the fact that it efficiently controls both solid and liquid fires, and cools the area surrounding the source of the fire. The fire is quickly contained and enables the emergency services to immediately advance to the source of the fire and protect the building structure.

Especially, the different power technologies of the parked vehicles, such as e-drives, require this rapid intervention of the emergency forces.

Intelligent design and the use of high-quality materials

High pressure water mist (HPWM) systems are made of high-quality stainless steel

High pressure water mist (HPWM) systems are made of high-quality stainless steel. This eliminates the need for service work, such as the replacement of corroded sprinkler piping systems.

Furthermore, the AQUASYS systems also offer flexibility for future adaptations. Compact pump units can be easily expanded and supplemented with additional piping.

Small pipes provide more headroom at the ceiling

The lightweight system with small pipe dimensions can also be easily integrated into existing structures. In addition, the small pipes provide more headroom at the ceiling, because some of the underground garage floors are only up to 2 meters high.

The system is supplied via a 22 cubic meters tank that was adapted to the existing space and installed directly on site.
