AQUASYS delivers 40 wall hydrant systems with high-pressure water mist including 6 pump stations to a well-known R&D partner for the automotive industry. In case of fire they protect more than 100 component, engine, transmission, and roller testing systems in 8 buildings.

The decision for the AQUASYS system was based on comparative tests where the suitability and efficiency of the system in direct competition with another existing system was tested and proven on the basis of a 1.5 MW reference fire.

Extremely simple operation

In this direct comparison, the increased effectiveness and extremely simple operation of the AQUASYS system convinced the customer's management and the test stand engineers attending.

The outstanding effectiveness of the AQUASYS Water Mist Gun has already been proven in various fire tests, for example in solid or liquid fires, but especially in vehicle fires. The Water Mist Gun is easy to handle due to its optimized weight of approx. 2 kg. The efficient approach and suppression of a fire while protecting the user in the best possible way is possible with either a full jet or a spray jet.

Quick change device

A special challenge in this order was the installation of the system during ongoing 3-shift operation

Optionally, the AQUASYS system can be equipped with a foam tube as well as a piercing tool via the integrated quick-change device. With this tool, even thin sheets such as engine hoods can be pierced and hidden fires or glowing nests can be fought easily and immediately. Furthermore, a hose length of up to 50 m is possible, depending on customer requirements.

A special challenge in this order was the installation of the system during ongoing 3-shift operation. Since the AQUASYS Water Mist Gun system allows very small pipe dimensions (approx. 18 mm outer diameter) due to the low water consumption, a very simple and quick installation is possible with appropriate planning and prefabrication.

Immediately endangered area

The Water Mist Guns, which are mounted in closed boxes, were installed in the feeding corridors or control rooms and thus outside the immediately endangered area.

In the event of a fire, they are thus easily accessible and users can get the system ready to start outside the source of the fire. In the area of the roller test benches, the Water Mist Guns are equipped with piercing tools as standard. They are very pleased that with this further project they are able to make an active contribution to employee safety and to increasing system availability!
