Apollo Fire Detectors, specialists in the design and manufacture of high quality fire detection products, will be exhibiting at Marintec China in Shanghai from 5th to 8th December 2017. With its 30-year history, it is co-organised by the Shanghai Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers, making Marintec China one of the most important trade shows in the marine sector.
Detectors for marine applications
Visitors to the Apollo stand at N3F79 will be able to see a selection of the latest developments in fire detection technology, including Apollo’s extensive range for marine environments.
“Detectors for marine applications have to operate reliably under challenging environmental conditions. In addition, devices installed into marine applications have to meet a unique set of approvals. Apollo has a long tradition of developing specialist detectors that meet the required standards”, says Simon Flavell, Global Business Development Manager (MOI and India) at Apollo Fire Detectors.
Discovery, XP95 and Orbis
One of the product ranges on the stand will be Discovery – a range of high specification analogue addressable fire detectors designed to meet specifications for detectors incorporated in sophisticated systems.
The Apollo XP95 and Orbis marine ranges have been specially developed to meet the stringent approvals required for marine applications. One example is intrinsically safe detectors for volatile environments like oil rigs.
Ancillary products
In addition to detectors, ancillary products can be very important in marine environments and will be displayed on the stand. These include intrinsically safe Visual Indicators and intrinsically safe Sounders for environments with high ambient noise or where visual indication of an alarm is required for other reasons.
Ingress of water into fire detectors is another risk in marine environments – devices like the Apollo Deckhead Mounting Box are designed specifically to prevent contaminants entering through the rear of the base.
