Chris will report to Warren Rees, Apollo EMEA’s Managing Director and will sit on the company’s board of directors
Chris will be working with partners to ensure that Apollo's extensive product range meets industry needs

Apollo Fire Detectors has further strengthened its position as a leading global provider of innovative fire detection products with the appointment of Chris Moore as Technical Director.

In his new role, Chris will be responsible for the delivery of new product developments in line with the business technology strategy, with a key focus on fire detection for wireless and loop powered product lines. On a day-to-day basis, Chris will work with UK and international technology partners including suppliers, design engineers, customers and panel partners to ensure that Apollo’s extensive product range meets industry needs.

Prior to joining Apollo – initially on a contract as Technical Manager in April 2013 – Chris held a number of senior engineering management roles for companies in the Aerospace and Defence industries. Previous experience includes R&D Director at Thales, as well as senior roles at Smiths Aerospace and Nokia. With this extensive experience of highly regulated industries, Chris brings considerable product and regulation expertise to Apollo’s senior management team.

Commenting on Chris’ appointment, Warren Rees, Apollo EMEA’s Managing Director, says: “We are strongly focused on international product development and recognise the need to meet the differing technology requirements of each country. With Chris spearheading our product offering, we are in a much stronger position to lead the market forward and develop new world-class fire detection solutions.”

Chris adds: “I’m delighted to join Apollo and feel very excited about the opportunities that this new role presents. I’m passionate about the need to support manufacturing through technology and with 4.5 million units manufactured every year at our UK manufacturing facility, there’s plenty of scope to offer this support.”

“It’s a great time to be joining Apollo as there’s a lot happening in terms of new product development – we’re certainly not short of great ideas and my challenge will be to get as many new products to market as quickly as possible to keep up with international industry demand. There’s also a lot of buzz around new product areas such as wireless, flush mount detectors and of course our next generation of addressable detectors. We are committed to leading the market forward in this this field and continuing our international growth.”

Based at Apollo EMEA’s international office in Havant, Hampshire, Chris will report to Warren Rees, Apollo EMEA’s Managing Director and will sit on the company’s board of directors.
