Other features of the Amseco PSUs include electronic short-circuit protection
The Amseco PSUs are IP65 rated which means that they can be deployed in external and internal conditions

Amseco - a brand of Potter Signal, LLC - announces the launch of a range of economically-priced switch mode Power Supply Units (PSUs) targeted at its customers in the EMEA region.

These have been designed to offer many of the energy efficiency and operational benefits typically associated with more expensive models, making the new PSUs an extremely attractive prospect for projects of all sizes.

The new Amseco PSUs are available in 1, 2 and 3A versions. These are all capable of delivering a fully regulated 13.8V dc output with a universal mains supply of 90V ac - 264V ac. Constructed from tough 3mm ABS, the units have space to house a 7Ah battery, offer battery charging as standard, and feature an aesthetically pleasing opaque lid to conceal their components.

Significantly, the Amseco PSUs are IP65 rated which means that there is the potential to deploy them in external as well as internal environments. Typical examples include locations exposed to the elements, such as warehouses and loading bays, or wet wash down areas.

From an installation perspective, for flexibility the PSUs come without fixed cable entries. This means that installers can put the glands wherever they are required according to the demands of a specific application. The high voltage electronics contained in the PSU are also carefully shrouded to enhance installer safety.

Other features of the Amseco PSUs include electronic short-circuit protection and mains present and fault indication LEDs to allow a quick diagnosis of any problems.

Comments Amseco spokesperson Jon East: "We believe that these new entry-level PSUs combine a number of advanced features which make them stand out in any cost benefit analysis. In particular, with the increasing move from linear to more efficient and reliable switch mode PSUs we expect the lower price point, and enhanced performance, of these IP65 rated models to generate a high level of demand."
