Aico has integrated the search function with Google Maps

Aico Ltd. - the UK’s leading supplier of Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms – has upgraded its web site to make searching for a trained installer even easier than before.

The Aico Fire Products Trained Installer Scheme (AFPTIS) provides the information and training necessary for contractors to achieve a successful and effective fire alarm installation.  It combines training and technical information with regular updates on best practice and changes in Standards and Regulations.

For specifiers looking for suitably qualified installers, www.aico.co.uk lists all contractors and companies who have completed the AFPTIS scheme.  Aico has now integrated the search function with Google Maps, enabling users to easily search by their town or postcode.  The ten nearest installers in order of distance from the search location are then displayed with full contact details listed alongside.  The main map view also shows a complete UK view of installers.

In addition to information on AFPTIS members, the Aico web site has a number of additional valuable features, including easy to use Specification Selectors to make producing robust domestic Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm specifications quick and simple.  At the end of the process, a professional pre-written specification can be downloaded.

For specifiers looking for a specific product, there is a dynamic Product Search tool which allows the user to search by product code or filter by product type or feature – for example, all mains powered alarms, or alarms of a certain sensor type etc.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Ei Electronics, Aico is the first name in residential fire protection in the UK.  All alarms are designed and built in Europe specifically to meet the UK standards and regulations.
